Linda Rigley

Admin, and Art & PSHE Teacher

Hello, I'm Linda, and I am proud to be part of the Conquer Learning team, where I support our learners as an Administrator, Art Teacher and PSHE Teacher.

For more than 26 years, I have dedicated my career to working with vulnerable children and adults in both small group settings and on a one-to-one basis. Throughout this time, I have worked across a wide range of educational and support settings, including homeless hostels, probation hostels, women's refuges, colleges, Pupil Referral Units, pre-16 and post-16 provisions, and Alternative Provisions.

I have delivered personalised programmes in GCSE Art and Design, PSHE, English and Employability, and spent 10 years as a PSHE Curriculum Lead. During this time, I developed a real passion for ensuring that personal development sits at the heart of education. I believe that learning should be meaningful and relatable, and I enjoy incorporating learners' interests into lessons to help them engage, grow and succeed.

Some of my proudest moments have been seeing young people who have struggled in education rediscover their confidence and achieve things they never thought possible. I have learned just as much from the talented young people I have worked with as they have from me.

I am incredibly proud to be part of Conquer Learning, where we are committed to providing a personalised approach to education and ensuring that no learner is ever lost to learning. I love seeing our young people develop with confidence, celebrate their achievements and realise their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Outside of work, I have a creative side and enjoy painting, crafts, upcycling furniture and tackling DIY projects. I also love taking my mischievous black Labrador, Rocky, out for walks. He's a little bit naughty and will eat almost anything if given the chance, but he's great company! I often find myself responsibly foraging for interesting materials to use in art and craft projects – nature provides some wonderful inspiration.

I have two grown-up children and three wonderful grandchildren, who keep me busy and bring lots of joy to my life. We love spending time together, and although I'm not the world's greatest baker, I do enjoy making cakes with them (usually packet mixes!). As someone with a serious sweet tooth, especially for big cream cakes, I tend to leave the fancy baking to the professionals and enjoy eating the results instead!
